Unlock your superpower

One of the questions we often ask when running team team development sessions is “What is your superpower?”.

Knowing what your superpower is, gives you an opportunity to acknowledge your strengths that you bring to the workplace. This also gives your colleagues an opportunity to recognise those strengths that you display on a day-to-day basis or even to highlight some that you may not even be consciously aware of.

But let’s take a step back. How can knowing what your superpower is help you in a work environment?

We all have to work together. Knowing what your strengths are and how you can compliment your colleague’s strengths will help you to operate better together, achieve your collective goals and do amazing things.

How do I find my superpower?
Take any part of your life – work, social, physical, personal – and identify a situation where you are operating at your best. What are you doing, thinking and feeling? What are other people seeing? What strengths are you exhibiting?

Then ask yourself: How would those strengths, behaviours and passions translate to produce tangible and unique benefits to your people, your company, your clients and the community?
